Without thread, there would be no piece at all, it would collapse. It is the force maker, the cement. The use of needles and threads and the rhythmic movement of the artist's gesture have healing and comforting effects. A bit like medicine. For Ria Lins, the use of silver and gold is rather coincidental. By its weight, she gets good undulating movement to her necklaces. But the silver and gold certainly contribute to the warmth and value of each piece. Her attractive necklaces wrap comfortably around the neck of the wearer and delight her with their soft touch and shimmer.

Ria Lins is a Belgian artist, trained at the St Lucas University College of Art & Design in Antwerp and in several workshops with master jewellers. Ria Lins has been awarded among others by the "HRD Awards, Trompe l'oeil" and the 1st prize Wim Ibens Award".
